A wedding extravaganza for bad guy turned good guy Steve "Patch" Johnson and good girl Kayla Brady. After a torturous road to the alter, including Kayla going deaf and mute, the wedding was a triumph, with Kayla regaining her speech throughout the ceremony.
Plots running concurrently:
The first clue to Roman's (John Black's Past) arrived in Salem, with a man seeking his student of the martial arts. Hired by Stefano to train Roman/John Black, but not knowing his name, he handed a photo of Roman #1 to Diana Colville, who although dating Roman/John at the time, had no idea that his face (and height) had undergone a transformation.
Frankie Brady, admits that his "little brother" Max was actually a child he felt sorry for at the foster home, and he kidnapped him to save him from abuse. This comes to light as the boy's real father, comes looking for him, and Frankie is forced to tell the truth to the distraught Caroline and Shawn who have adopted Max as their own.
Jack also is distraught. Although uninvited to Patch and Kayla's wedding (naturally since he raped the bride some time earlier) he is forlorn that he has lost the love of his life to his brother. Seeking solace in Melissa Horton's arms is little comfort.
Here it begins as Kayla inspects the yacht where her wedding will take place.
Kayla looks at the beautiful yacht, beautifully set up with flowers. She turns amazed to Carolyn and Kimberly and signs. What is this? she asks. This is Steve's wedding present to you Carolyn smiles. A beautiful wedding.
ROMAN AND DIANA
Roman Brady has recovered from the "death" of Marlena and has moved on with his life, wooing the feisty editor/owner of the Spectator newspaper.
KAYLA REMEMBERS
Kayla remembers as a little girl seeing the same set up as her wedding now. Steve must have recreated her dreams.
MIKE HORTON,
Mike Horton strolls down towards the yacht with April Ramirez. He can't make her smile - she's worried about her brother Emilio and hasn't heard from him. Mike offers to go look when they bump into April and Emilio's newly found father.
SPYING
Steve Johnson has come to the boat to check out the preparations, when he sees Kayla rehearsing her wedding vows in sign language. His heart is full.
EMILIO AND MIKE HORTON
Emilio Ramirez has been found. He's bleeding courtesy from a run in with a gang. Mike urges him to give up this gang business, but frankly Emilio can't. He needs it for protection.
